    STARBUCK–The Tenth Annual Swim the Snake noncompetitive swimming and paddle boarding event splashed off over the weekend on August 12. The Swim the Snake was participated in by 37 swimmers and six paddle boarders at Lyons Ferry State Park and Lyons Ferry KOA Marina.     DAYTON–No one was injured in a fire which totaled a camper van at the recreational vehicle park at 101 Hogeye Road Sunday night at about 7:50. Fire District No. 3 units responded and quickly extinguished the vehicle fire, which appeared to have started in the engine compartment of the vehicle then spread to the passenger compartment, according to Chief Jeromy Phinney of District 3.     CLARKSTON–A 46-year-old Pomeroy man was fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident on SR 12 near Chief Timothy Park July 19. Jeremiah J. Hessling, 46, was pronounced deceased at the scene, five miles west of Clarkston, according to the Washington State Patrol. Hessling was westbound on a 1992 Honda ST1100 motorcycle when, in the process of passing a commercial motor vehicle, his vehicle collided with an eastbound 2020 Toyote driven by Jamie M.
