    Halloween on Main Street and at the Columbia County Courthouse saw many trick or treaters this year. The Sheriff's Office handed out bags of treats of candy and toys, Fire District No. 3 had yummy hotdogs. The Dayton Chronicle held a costume contest again this year and gave a little treat to those with and without costumes. The Liberty Theater, Columbia County Health Department, the Methodist Church and other businesses all had Halloween treats for the ghosts and goblins. Ray's Drive-In had... Full story

    DAYTON–The art show at Wenaha Gallery during the Tour of Homes this last weekend, an encounter with artist Paul Henderson, exposed some facts of his pursuit of painting with life and detail. He said he got into painting because "when he was a kid, he drew all the time, when he was drawing a castle window had to have something in it and every brick in it."
