    Loyal Baker|Mar 24, 2022

DAYTON–A Langley, Wash., man is suing Columbia County for an alleged violation of the Public Records Act (PRA), but he got a different response here than he is accustomed to receiving. Rather than settle out of court, Columbia County is saying "see you in court." Eric Hood of 5256 Foxglove Lane, Langley, Wash., filed a complaint against Columbia County on January 10, 2020, alleging that on January 19, 2019, he requested from Auditor Anne Higgins "all records the county got from the [State] a...

He asked whether the County has developed a plan, if the mill goes “belly-up?” Will the County see a loss? “It’s a concern and it is a significant amount of...

Trenches were trenched and main lines were connected to someday provide irrigation to the nine-hole course, and there's still a lot of work left to do, says Sean Thurston, project chairman. • Letters to the Editor

    Mar 24, 2022

To the editor, BMAC (Blue Mountain Action Council) says in their mission statement that they “deliver services and support to our neighbors experiencing poverty.” They enlisted my assistance in this endeavor and, as a result, my dog nearly died, my property was burgled and vandalized, and I am out over $11,000. I share my story so that BMAC does not take advantage of other gullible people who are willing to extend a kindness to someone who needs assistance. A year ago, I took in a tenant sponsored by BMAC. • Pastor's Corner

    Mar 24, 2022

“Be faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life” Rev. 2:11. It is reported that when one of the early church leaders was burned at the stake because he refused to deny Christ, he said, “Now I begin to be a Christian.” He wasn’t making a doctrinal statement. We become Christians when we place our trust in Christ as Savior and Lord. Instead, he was implying that the real test had come. He was being tried to the far reaches of his soul. The Bible teaches that even the most godly will undergo severe trials. It doesn’t mean God doesn’t...
