    DAYTON-The City Council approved Ordinance 1981, which is a 12% utility tax increase to mediate the budget deficiency, at a special meeting on May 19. The budget shortfalls are a result of the increased cost to the County per the interlocal agreement for law enforcement, dispatch and municipal court services to Columbia County totaling $612,500, as well as an increase in pull from the retirement benefit.     DAYTON–Two residents of Booker Rest Home and three staff tested positive for COVID-19 on May 19, according to a Columbia County Health System news release Thursday, May 20. The residents, one vaccinated and one unvaccinated, were reported to be in stable condition at the time of the announcement late last week.
