DAYTON–At a Membership Meeting attended by about two dozen people, Dayton Days, Inc. voted to continue as a corporation and opted to put on a rodeo Memorial Day Weekend 2020. DAYTON–A hearing regarding the sentencing of Benjamin Orozco, who was convicted of second-degree murder and first-degree assault following a three-and-a-half day trial last August, has been postponed. OLMPIA–The Washington Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners (WACME) wants all counties in Washington State to have a separately elected Coroner/Medical Examiner. DAYTON–Columbia County Health System (CCHS) presented a major concern about some bad debt that was written off from patients from Texas during last week’s meeting on December 3. During October 2019, Columbia County Health System approved $28,118 in bad debt write offs from a number of patients. Of this amount, approximately $5,000 was from two patients from Texas. DAYTON– The Columbia County Commissioners adopted three standard year-end resolutions during a regular meeting held on December 2. 2019-56 – The Basin Disposal rate for 2020 is $94.10 per ton. Dail Butler was born near Medical Lake, Washington on February 26, 1900. Her mother died when she was three years old and her family moved to Renton, Washington. Her grandfather, James Wing Butler, farmed on the Whetstone and her other grandfather, Levi Watrous, had a saw mill operation on Jim Creek. She married Cecil Laughery and moved to Dayton in 1923.
