STARBUCK–The Tenth Annual Swim the Snake noncompetitive swimming and paddle boarding event splashed off over the weekend on August 12. The Swim the Snake was participated in by 37 swimmers and six paddle boarders at Lyons Ferry State Park and Lyons Ferry KOA Marina. Contestants gathered at the shore located at Lyons Ferry Park to swim the 0.7-mile stretch of Lake Sacajawea after paddle boarders arrived from the KOA Marina. The Combined team scores for the Colfax, SELW and Pomeroy meet July 20 were Colfax 558, SELW 377 with Pomeroy at third with 325. POMEROY–Pomeroy Gun Club members Steve and Holly Jo Ledgerwood and Larry Bunch shot at the Western Zone shoot in Colton July 14-16 and brought home some trophies provided by the Colton Club. POMEROY-The Junior and Senior high track and field teams held a joint awards night on June 6. The PHS track team had 13 state medal winners, including Sydney Bales' championship in pole vault and Tyler Slaybaugh's championship in the 100 meter dash. POMEROY–The summer pool season opened with a free admission on Sunday, June 11, and swim team practice started Monday, June 12 ,with retuning and many new participants. Head Coach Kyler Lovgren praised the 2023 team for their hard work and their willingness to make adjustments throughout the season.
