DAYTON–A Thanksgiving staple here for the past 33 years is the Kiwanis Turkey Bingo, set for this Saturday, November 23, at the Dayton Elementary Multipurpose Room. The games begin at 3 p.m. and go until 8:30 p.m.
The Kiwanis Club will be accepting food donations at the door for the Dayton Food Bank, with the assistance of the Girl Scout Brownies Troop. The Food Bank needs protein foods such as peanut butter, canned tuna, canned or dry beans, and low-sodium soups, rolled oats, canned fruit and vegetables, etc.
Donors of food will receive a “flimsy” Bingo card, or two, depending upon the size of the donation. Last year, about 500 pounds of food was collected for the local food bank.
Road to Leadership
As in previous years, there will be a plethora of spectacular prizes, gift certificates and, of course, turkeys.
As a service club, Kiwanis seeks to better the community. Profits from Turkey Bingo will be directed towards the youth and special ongoing projects in the community, including the various youth sports for the elementary and high school students as well as extra-curricular high school programs, the Road to Leadership, the Missoula Summer Children’s Theater, and the Scholarship Program as important projects worthy of continued support.
