WALLA WALLA–The area's Special Olympics Bowling Team is headed to state.
One of the bowling champions is April Goebel, daughter of Lori Goebel, of Dayton. She qualified at a tournament held recently at Walla Walla's Bowlaway Lanes, and will compete in the Special Olympics State Bowling Tournament at Fairtime Bowling November 23 in Kennewick.
Goebel and four other teammates hailing from Waitsburg and Walla Walla all qualified by winning gold medals at the recent competition. They are Michael Buchanan, Cesar Cisnenos, Nicole Eastwood, Ashley Medutis and Goebel.
