When winter came a-visitin' last week and Daytonites awoke to a bracing blanket of freshly fallen snow, few may know that there are Good Samaritans who routinely clear the deep snow from Main Street sidewalks, and other walking routes in the city, often under cover of darkness and disguised by a protective helmet. City of Dayton crews were also out before the rooster crowed, scooping the berms of snow off of the Main Street centerline, hauling it away in preparation for a day of commerce and coping with Ol' Man Winter.
