FFA Ag Issues Success

DAYTON-The local FFA Ag Issues team is looking at a hopeful future ahead of them. These seven dedicated members placed second at districts last Wednesday, and will be moving on to compete in the state competition.

The Agriculture Issues team is in charge of choosing an issue within the agricultural community and to express both the supporting and opposing sides of the issue through presentation, for competition, and to spread awareness of the issue throughout their community. The Dayton team this year has chosen the John Deere company's choice to revoke the right to repair from its customers. The team has done well in its duties to spread awareness of this subject, and will continue to do so prior to the upcoming state competition.

As it goes every year, the sophomore class is in charge of hosting and planning the Sadie Hawkins dance, which is about girls switching around traditional roles, and asking their dates themselves. The class of 2022 is in charge this year, and have been working through the plans for quite some time. The sophomores decided to throw the dance in late February, and chose a black light dance with the theme "Neon Lights", and have invited the Waitsburg students to attend as well. The class is waiting on official ASB approval which is yet to come. They hope for a great turnout, and for a successful and fun night for their fellow students.
