DAYTON–Out of an abundance of caution, the Dayton Chamber of Commerce has postponed its spring fling, Brix & Brew Benefit Auction fundraiser until May 8, announced Molly Weatherill-Tate, Chamber Manager.
The Chamber Board, following discussions with Weatherill-Tate, has been cognizant of businesses and other institutions or entities advising employees to refrain from participating in public events or in public settings, Weatherill-Tate told the Dayton Chronicle this week.
“Some businesses are having non-essential employees working remotely,” Weatherill-Tate said. “We are trying to be conscious and responsible by following their lead.
“Across the board, there are lots of people around the state facing this decision and are either rescheduling or canceling events,” she said. “We wanted to make sure we took into account what they’re doing across the state.”
The Brix & Brew Benefit Auction had been scheduled for this Friday, March 13. Weatherill-Tate announced the event, one of the organization’s top fund-raising activities, will be rescheduled for Friday, May 8.
Tickets to the event in May will be honored, or refunded.
