AREA RESIDENTS ARE WARNED OF POTENTIAL FLOOD EVENT ALONG PATIT CREEK, MAY 19, 2020
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Columbia County from 10:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, May 19, through late Wednesday night, warns the City of Dayton Department of Planning and Community Development.
One to two inches of precipitation are expected. Small creeks are at high risk for flooding.
The Patit Creek is at risk for minor to moderate flooding. It is anticipated that the creek will reach or exceed bankful and cause localized flooding in the Dayton community. Other small creeks and streams throughout the County are also at risk.
Sandbags are available for Dayton and Columbia County residents.
Notes: filled and unfilled sandbags are available in the shop yards at the City of Dayton Public Works, 300 S. Cottonwood Street, or Columbia County Public Works, 415 N. Guernsey Ave.
Sandbags are free for Columbia County residents to pick up for personal use. You must pick them up and may have to fill them if all filled bags have been taken/utilized.
