DAYTON–An alert last week to prepare for possible rising water in local streams and creeks thankfully did not occur as warned by the National Weather Service.
Volunteers mobilized on May 19 to place sandbags at a number of locations along Patit Creek in the city proper.
Rain in the region was heavy and some areas reported about two inches, but the high water warned of never materialized.
“There was no significant flooding or damage from the City’s standpoint,” reported Dayton Mayor Zac Weatherford.
