DAYTON–The COVID-19-canceled 2020 All Wheels Weekend is going virtual, the Dayton Chamber of Commerce has announced.
Enthusiasts of horseless carriages and other forms of wheeled motivation are invited to enter their vehicle for the 26th Annual All Wheels Car Show, which will be held on Facebook from 6 a.m.-4 p.m. June 20, according to Molly Weatherill-Tate, Chamber Manager.
People may visit the show on the All Wheels Weekend Facebook page, or by visiting allwheelsweekend.com on the day of the event where there will be a link for participation, she said.
Anyone who doesn't have a Facebook account, or access to the social-media site, may email a photo of their vehicle to the Dayton Chamber of Commerce at [email protected]. Of course, remember to include your name, city and a brief description of the entered vehicle.
Entries may also be mailed by Friday, June 19, to the Chamber at 166 E. Main St., Dayton, WA 99328, and remember to include your name, city and description of entry. If you wish the photo to be returned, please let Weatherill-Tate know.
A Best of Show will be awarded according to the most votes received on the Chamber Facebook page and on allwheelsweekend.com.
That's not all the fun the Chamber has planned, according to Weatherill-Tate. A virtual scavenger hunt on the day of the show will be part of the allure, and one lucky winner will receive $100 in Dayton Dollars. "You might want to pull out those dash plaques," Weatherill-Tate said.
Even though the actual car show is canceled, the Chamber is touting commemorative T-shirts, featuring the 100th anniversary of Dingle's of Dayton. The t-shirt sleeve includes a Volkswagen bug wearing a mask. Call 382-4825 or email the Chamber to order by June 5.
