Many participated in the local 2020 Prayer Walk

DAYTON-Over 100 people from in and around Dayton gathered at the Courthouse for the Prayer Walk for the community and nation on September 26 at 9 a.m. The crowd was met by event organizer and Faith Chapel Elder Fred Giacci and Undersheriff Robbie Patterson.

The prayer event was one of many to gather in unison with many cities around the country under the request from Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham who held a Prayer March in Washington D.C. at the same time (12 p.m. Eastern.)

The Dayton group prayed at the courthouse, library, schools, hospital and City Hall. The prayers at each location were led by various community ministers with other prayers offered by those present. Along the way, some prayed in silence, while others visited quietly. On one part of the path, Heather Stearns played well-known hymns on her handmade flute.

At the final stop at City Hall, longtime Dayton resident, 91-year-old Lina Cunningham shared with everyone how wonderful it is to see so many around the nation joining together in prayer, to which there was much agreement and even applause. The event closed with a hymn.
