"Believe" Lighted Christmas Cruise Friday

DAYTON–Adapted for the coronavirus, the community's Christmas celebration, "BELIEVE," gets underway this Friday, November 27, with a Lighted Christmas Cruise.

All are invited to spiff up their vehicles for the holiday celebration, which will start at 6 p.m. from the Dayton Athletic Complex on South Cottonwood Street. Drivers and vehicles should begin staging in that area at 5:30 p.m., according the Chamber Manager Molly Weatherill-Tate.

The serpentine will wind through Dayton's neighborhoods for spectators to enjoy, Weatherill-Tate said, with best views on South 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th streets.

The parade will also hit Main Street, East Dayton Avenue, Wagon Road and West Cameron Street.

Other "BELIEVE" happenings include a "shop local" emphasis by the Chamber of Commerce. Local small businesses will be offering products and services through an online "Dayton Holiday Marketplace," Weatherill-Tate said. To see the variety of items, visit charityauction.bid/DaytonHolidayShop.

Anyone who "BELIEVES" in Kris Kringle is invited to post a letter to that right Jolly Old Elf at the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, 166 E. Main Street, from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Include a return address to guarantee a reply from Santa himself!

The Chamber and sponsor Pacific Power will have a fireworks display at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 19. The public is invited to congregate downtown and follow physical distancing guidelines while viewing the sparkling displays.
