Dayton man in custody on voyeurism charges

DAYTON–A 61-year-old Dayton man has pleaded not guilty to four counts of voyeurism and six counts of Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in the Second Degree during a Columbia County Superior Court arraignment hearing May 5, 2021, Judge Brooke J. Burns presiding.

Kenneth E. Nettleton, 307 E. Spring St., Dayton, was arrested on April 27, 2021, and is being held on $100,000 bond in the Columbia County Jail.

Nettleton’s first appearance, a probable cause hearing, was April 28 before Judge G. Scott Marinella. Attorney Angela Garratt was appointed to represent Nettleton and an arraignment date of May 5, 2021, was set. Judge Marinella found there was probable cause in this case and set bail of $100,000 in cash or surety bond.

According to court information, Nettleton allegedly used an electronic device or devices to record images, inside his Spring Street residence, of individuals, without their knowledge or consent, in a place where one would have a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Investigators indicate additional charges may stem from the continuing investigation, court records show.

All charges to date are Class C felonies, punishable by a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine, if convicted.
