Eagles continue events, despite burn out

DAYTON–The Dayton Eagles Arie 2618 plan an “All Wheels Weekend Breakfast”, Eagles Building Brick fundraiser and a membership drive all available at the Breakfast at the American Legion Hall on 211 E. Clay St., on Father’s Day Sunday, June 20 at 6:30–11 a.m.

The Eagles Arie 2618 took a big hit recently, when the club’s building caught on fire while readying it for inspection to reopen this weekend. Now, the regular and auxiliary members are rallying to open for business, in a different way until the club can establish a new or temporary home.

The Eagles Auxiliary will begin with their annual All Wheels Weekend Breakfast which will be served at the American Legion Frank E. Bauers Post 42 Hall on 211 E. Clay St., on Father’s Day Sunday, June 20 at 6:30–11 a.m. In addition, salvaged bricks, a piece of the legendary club building, will be available for a donation–you decide. It will all go toward the recovery process they now face.

While enjoying Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, juice and coffee, at the “All Wheels Weekend Breakfast”, consider joining the Eagles organization that commits to bettering its community through scholarships, grants and individual help when needed. There will be application forms there and Regular and Auxiliary members to answer questions and guide you through the process.

The reopening of the Eagles Club will occur at a later date, when a new or temporary club is secured. But for now, enjoy traditional events in a different way and place. “We will continue to hold events even in the face of adversity,” said Eagles Auxiliary Vice President Cindi John. “We are pleased to be able to participate in our Breakfast event during All Wheels Weekend, by the courtesy of the American Legion Frank E. Bauers Post 42, who made available their building to hold the annual affair.”
