2021 Teen Video Challenge!

Do you have a passion for reading or libraries? Do you want to share your video or performative skills with teens across the country? The Teen Video Challenge is for you!

Five winners will be chosen and will receive: a $200 cash prize, and $50 worth of summer reading materials for their library! The Teen Video Challenge is an annual video contest and is open to all teens (librarian and teacher support is encouraged). The challenge is for teens to create a public services announcement-type video that shows their unique interpretation of the 2021 CSLP slogan "Tails and Tales". Videos are to be no longer than 60 seconds and should promote libraries and reading. Videos will be accepted June 1 through August 6, 2021. More information can be found at bit.ly/teenvidchal.

YMCA Fun Factory Continues

The YMCA continues to bring its Fun Factory to our library every Monday (except July 5) through August 29th. It meets on Mondays from 11:45 am - 1:00 pm in the Delany Building and offers arts and crafts for kids ages 5-10 years old. Come join in the fun!

New Databases Coming

Our library is part of a group purchasing arrangement through the Washington State Library. On a regular basis, database publishers are asked to bid to provide libraries statewide with databases. Starting July 1, 2021, CCRLD patrons will have access to an excellent package of resources through Gale. This rich collection of resources includes academic and scholarly journals, eBooks, homework help, business resources, health and medicine, and much more. In the coming weeks I will be spotlighting different databases, their content and strengths. Watch our Digital Resources page for more information.
