Larry Higley

March 26, 1934–August 8, 2021

Larry Higley, with family by his side, passed away peacefully in Seattle on August 8, 2021.

Larry was born to Philip and May (Fry) Higley on March 26, 1934 and grew up in Dayton. As a senior in high school in 1952, he was part of the State Championship football team. After graduating from Dayton High School, he enlisted in the US Army and served in Japan.

In 1954 he married his high school sweetheart Pat Coverdale. When discharged from the Army he attended a diesel school in Portland, Ore. He went to work as a parts man for Westport Marine in Westport, Wash. In 1978 he purchased the business.

Larry retired in 2000 and he and Pat enjoyed traveling. He helped start a church in Westport and enjoyed telling others about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Larry is survived by his wife of 67 years and five children; Sharlayne (Mitch); Larry Jr. (Wendy); Richard (Diane); Rilee; Lisa (David); 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
