First football game canceled; volleyball's first game up in the air

WAITSBURG–With Dayton Schools in remote learning on September 6-10, fall sports practices are being resumed for the high school with the goal of preventing or limiting any potential COVID exposure between athletes from the Dayton and Waitsburg schools, according to the Dayton-Waitsburg Wolfpack website.

The September 10 Wolfpack Football game at Lake Roosevelt was canceled, and the opening game of the season is the September 17 contest at Cowiche against Highland High School.

Volleyball practices are being conducted in Waitsburg and Dayton, separately, to ensure that COVID is not spread between athletes from the individuals schools.

Waitsburg Wolfpack volleyball athletes are practicing this week in Waitsburg from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Dayton volleyball athletes practice in Dayton from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The first game, at Goldendale, September 7, was not played.
