DAYTON–The Board of Public Health convened at the Columbia County Commissioners’ Board meeting November 15, where reallocation of duties and job descriptions were discussed to fill the need at the Public Health office since Public Administrator Martha Lanman stepped down earlier this month.
Chelsea Eaton and Delphine Bailey are sharing some duties previously covered by Lanman, for the interim, such as signing documents and reporting for the Board of Health and to the BOCC.
The job descriptions approved were for a health nurse/school nurse for Starbuck school, a grant/fiscal coordinator and contracted contact tracers. They presented several resolutions that were approved including Resolution 2021-025 authorizing a contract renewal for Bailey to continue to provide services through WIC. Also, Resolution 2021-026 passed authorizing a contract for Care Coordinator Services for COVID-19 for serving those in quarantine.
Additionally, Resolutions 2021-027 for Emergency Preparedness services and 2021-028 for supplemental funding for cultural and linguistic resources to limit spread of COVID-19 were approved. Lastly, Resolution 20121-029 passed authorizing WIC nutritional services to continue to partner with Walla Walla Community Health pending approval from them.
