Dayton Elementary School Christmas Concert

Dayton Elementary School Music Department, under the direction of Amy Gillick, performed its annual Christmas Concert Thursday, December 2, in the Dayton Gym, opening with charming renditions of "Jingle Bells" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" by the Kindergarten classes. Choral groups from First through Fourth grades followed, belting out holiday standards such as "We Wish you a Merry Christmas," "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Here Comes Santa Claus" and the Third Grade's "Silent Night," featuring the Third and Fourth Grade combined ukulele and choir. The Fifth Grade Band made its debut with "Good King Wenceslas" and "Jolly Old St. Nicholas." Eighth Grader Carson Potter performed a piano solo: "Away in the Manger." The High School Ensemble offered "Little Drummer Boy," and the Middle School Band finished with three holiday standards, "Deck the Halls," "Greensleeves" and "Jingle Bells."
