TCP outguns Lady Wolfpack

PASCO–The TriCity Prep Lady Jaguars ran away with 53 first-half points and coasted to a 77-14 win over the Lady Wolfpack Basketball team here Tuesday, Dec. 14 after two weekend games were postponed due to covid precautions.

Colfax visits WHS’s Kison Court tonight, Dec. 16, and the Lady Wolfpack visit Columbia-Burbank on Saturday before breaking for the holidays. Their first game in 2022 will be Jan. 4 against Garfield-Palouse in Dayton.

TriCities Prep passed scoring around their top six players to jet to a 22-3 lead in the first quarter, then blanked the Wolfpack in the second quarter while scoring 31, Kaya Chang pumping in eight.

Teagen Culley drained a three and hit a bucket to score DW’s five points in the third then Megan Forney popped in three baskets in the final stanza as the TCP defense kept other DW scorers at bay.

Versus Oakesdale on Dec. 7, the Lady Nighthawks cruised to a 70-19 win, keeping DW in single digits each of the four quarters. Culley was good from the arc with a pair of treys, one in the second and one in the third.

Makenna Barron swished a three pointer in the first quarter and Kameryn Tupling hit one in the second.
