DAYTON–Theron Bennett of Dayton was all smiles when he collected his winnings from the 43rd 2021 Dayton Chronicle Shopping Spree, a local holiday-time promotion put on by Dayton's community newspaper with the help of local businesses.
Bennett's name was drawn for the grand prize of $100 in "Dayton Chronicle Scrip," which is redeemable at 19 local businesses. "I've never won anything before," Bennett exclaimed.
Four $50 prizes were also drawn from the entries collected from businesses since mid-November, when entry forms and collection receptacle boxes were placed at participating businesses around town. The entries were massed into a container and the drawing was conducted December 22.
Winning $50 in Dayton Chronicle Scrip were Robin Helland, Robin Bartlett, June Adams and Denise Winnett.
The winners are to redeem their winnings for products or services by January 20, 2022 at these participating businesses" Christy's Realty, My Dad's Place, Dayton Mercantile, Wenaha Gallery, Dingle's of Dayton, Gravis Law, Dayton Auto Repair, Chief Spring's Fire & Irons Brew Pub, Steve's Cash Grocery, Elk Drug, City Lumber, Blue Mountain Realtors, Paige's Floral & Gifts, State Farm Insurance, PFI Mart, Subway, Clef Hangers Music Studio, Pioneer West and Dayton Chronicle. Winners are restricted from using the scrip for tobacco, alcoholic beverages or lottery and must exchange the scrip for merchandise or services.
