Reading sticks Elementary Principal

DAYTON–Elementary school students earned over 1,000 strips of tape during the "Read Across America" week February 28–March 3.

The elementary school staff set a mighty high goal for students to achieve during the "Read Across America" week recently. The challenge was the more students read, the more strips of tape they would earn to stick Elementary Principal Amy Cox to the wall. It was estimated at least 600 strips would be needed to get her to stay "stuck" to the wall securely. The students certainly surpassed that goal–in other words "they blew that goal right out of the water," when they by earned over 1,000 strips of duct tape and were able to hold her off the floor.

The staff and students really appreciate the generosity of duct tape donated from City Lumber and Dingle's of Dayton.
