CLE ELUM–Dayton-Waitsburg’s Wolfpack Track and Field squad came up short at the District meet here May 18, several Wolfpack competitors notching personal records but none qualifying to make the 2B State meet in Cheney this weekend.
Kaydance Tiner, who finished fifth in the shot put at the Sub-District meet, came in eighth at the 2B meet, bettering her previous throw by two feet and three inches. Chasity Paddock was 15th in the shot with a 17-5 throw, and Marion Duncan was 16th at 13-6.
Tiner, a freshman, also placed 12th in the discus with a 54-8 mark.
Trista Villaro scratched in each of her three attempts at the Triple Jump.
Duncan, also a freshman, had the highest finish for the DW team, coming in sixth in the 400 m. dash with a 1:23.73 time, a new personal best.
DW’s boy’s team had four athletes competing with a fifth, Hudson Reser, bowing out of the 100 m. and 200 m. sprints for health reasons.
Alex Dahlby was the highest finishing Wolfpack runner, coming in tenth in the 3,200 m. run in 14:23.10, a personal best. He clocked 6:14.31 in the 1,600 m.
Eleventh-place finishes were by Tristan Rennaker in the Triple Jump, a PR for Rennaker at 33-1½, and Tony Halvorson, with a time of 6:11.22 in the 1,600 m. Long jumper Teegan Kenney had a 15-8.25 mark for 14th place.
