Sharon Kay Jones
Sharon Kay Jones, a resident of Dayton for the last 24 years, passed away May 31, 2022 at her home. She was 72.
Sharon was raised in the Arlington, Wash., area and graduated from high school there. Following shortly thereafter, she married David Gray. They moved to Livingston, Mont. and later to Bozeman where they began their family.
Sharon was always a very talented and artistic woman. She raised her kids in the Bozeman area and would teach them the art of tying fishing flies, which she also sold for income. The family later moved to Marysville, Wash., before their marriage ended in divorce. Sharon lived in Everett, Wash., for a short time before moving to Dayton about 24 years ago.
She worked as a CAN and provided in-home nursing care. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and gardening. Everything around her house was kept in impeccable shape and she was very meticulous and perfect in her flower beds, yard and gardens.
She was also a member of the Dayton Eagles. Sharon stopped working about two years ago due to health reasons. For several years, she has been good friends and a companion to Bob Hennigar, also of Dayton.
Sharon was preceded in death by a daughter Janet Skeen in 2018 and by a granddaughter, Mae.
She is survived by her daughters; Susan Larson of Dayton and Kari (Nick) Axtman of Tulalip, Wash; four grandchildren; Ella and Evan Larson, and Kerensa Lee and Alana Schmidt; and by several brothers and sisters.
