RICHLAND–The young Dayton-Waitsburg Lady Wolfpack Volleyball Team received accolades from Head Coach Tracy Barron for the improvement they showed as the 2022 season progressed following a four-set loss to the Liberty Christian Lady Patriots October 27.
"This team was so fun to coach this year," Coach Barron said. "They all came to practice and worked hard every day. That hard worked paid off each game with the amount of improvement they showed. I'm looking forward to what next season will bring."
Dayton-Waitsburg came out strong after a first-set loss of 25-13, rolling up a 25-15 win over Liberty. The Lady Patriots rallied to win the third set 25-16 and the battle was on for the match, Liberty slipping by the Lady Wolfpack in a hard-fought 25-21 final set.
Makenna Barron and Kylee Henry were strong at the net, both offensively and defensively. Barron pounded six kills and Henry notched four kills, and Barron rejected four attacks with blocks and Henry had a pair of blocks. Elsie Mann contributed with two kills and one block.
Barron and Henry both counted nine assists, and Mann was credited with two assists.
At the service line, Henry fired four ace serves, and Mann tallied three ace serves.
