FFA Christmas wreaths success, Junior class fundraiser for senior trip
DAYTON-Starting on December 13, the class of 2024 will be selling “The World’s Finest Chocolate” as a fundraiser until January 31. The proceeds will go towards the students senior trip next year along with other upcoming events such as dances. There are bar candies which include flavors Caramel, W.F. Crisp, Almond, Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, and Wafer. You can come to Dayton High School (DHS) or get ahold of a student from the Junior class to purchase. The Class of 2024 appreciates your support.
Dayton FFA had their annual wreath sale this year. It was a successful fundraiser that went on for the month of December. Students and members of the FFA were given the opportunity to make these handcrafted wreaths. Many of which were able to learn some skills such as customer service and teamwork. Dayton FFA Treasurer, Kaelie Jonas, has been working on coordinating a community service project called “Booker Buddies.” This community service project consists of playing games and communicating with the elderly. Members and FFA Officers were able to participate in the service project. There will be more “Booker Buddy”get-togethers in the future.
The Dayton-Waitsburg (DW) Wolfpack Boys Varsity Basketball game on December 20 at 3 p.m., spectators can watch a half-time cheer dance. The DW Wolfpack Cheerleaders will be preforming “Underneath the Tree,” to get students excited about winter break and to coordinate with the “Ugly X-mas Sweater” Game theme.
There will be a “Flannel Night” themed DW Wolfpack Basketball game at Dayton against Riverview on January 6. The Junior Varsity Boys game start at 4:30 p.m.; Varsity Girls will play at 6 p.m.; and the Varsity Boys begin at 7:30 p.m. Come support the DW Wolfpack Basketball teams and Cheerleaders! Wear your Christmas gear and bring your Christmas cheer!
