Wolfpack Spring Sports registration is open
DAYTON–The DW Wolfpack Spring Sports registration is now open. High School students can sign up for softball, track, golf, and baseball. If you have already registered for a sport this year using the DW Wolfpack Sports website, you do not need to register again but contact Sam Korslund (Athletic Director). If you are interested in participating, check out the DW Wolfpack Sports website. Though this is our last sports season as DW Wolfpack, many students from both Dayton and Waitsburg are excited to start spring sports.
Dayton High School Associated Student Body (ASB) and Leadership class put together a "Valentine's Day Scavenger Hunt." The Scavenger Hunt consisted of hiding cut out hearts around the High School. During seventh period, students were advised to go to their classes then told to hunt the hearts over the intercom. The person, class, and small team to get the most hearts were rewarded with a sweet prize! The Junior class won overall, Lila Hutchens was the top individual, and the Senior class small team. This activity was not only fun but encouraged student involvement in the high school.
The DHS Club Fair hosted in the commons on February 15 was very successful. Many clubs got new members and interacted with students about topics within their club. A Prevention and Awareness Club for the High School and Middle School is in the process of being proposed to the ASB. The focus is on mental health by Kristie Korslund (Counselor and Junior Class Advisor). Korslund has selected individuals to participate in a Peer Leaders training through the Sources of Strength program on March 7 in the Dayton Elementary Multipurpose Room during school hours. The training will include how prevention works, awareness work, team cooperation, and campaigns.
