Dayton Days rodeo set for May 26, 27

DAYTON–Plans are under way for hooves and horsehide in Dayton this coming Memorial Day Weekend, May 26 and 27, for the 2023 Dayton Days-Columbia County Fair Assoc. Rodeo.

Officers and board members of Dayton Days Inc. met earlier this week to discuss details surrounding the Memorial Day celebration. The nonprofit corporation, which put on a weekend of pari-mutuel horse racing for over nine decades, collaborates with the local fair association to put on the rodeo.

In the works is a two-day rodeo, the first round beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 26, for the evening show, and the final round getting going at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 27, shortly after the Dayton Days Parade, set for 10 a.m. on Main Street downtown.

Admission will be $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and youth (8-16), and seven and under are free.

Plans are in the works for numerous vendors, a beer garden and mechanical bull.

Rodeo contractor will be Bar X Ranches, LLC and Shamrock Rodeo.
