Wolfpack hammers Highland

WAITSBURG–Dayton-Waitsburg Wolfpack hit the hide off the baseball in its double header against Highland this Tuesday, garnering 22 in the 27-1 first game victory and 11 in the 8-4 second-game win. The Wolfpack's record is now 3-5.

The Wolfpack jumped to a 10-0 lead after the first inning and never looked back, allowing Highland only one run in the top of the third.

DW pitchers W. Durham struck out three while giving up one hit and three walks. J. Gleason walked one and struck out one before Klint Kuykendall relieved in the fifth.

Jasper Morris had five hits, Zach Durham four, and Kuykendall and I. Reyes each had three hits.

In the second game, the Wolfpack let Highland jump to a 4-1 lead but chipped away with a run here and there to tie it in the bottom of the third, then go ahead with four more runs while the defense held Highland to goose eggs.

Jasper Morrow pitched the entire seven innings of the 8-4 win, giving up six hits, striking out eight and walking two.

Hits were scattered across the roster, with Z. Durham getting two and almost all other players on the team getting a hit.
