The Lord never has a power failure
Years ago, our van lost power as we were approaching the Snake River Bridge at Central Ferry. It didn't help that the temperature was over 100 degrees. In order to get to the shade and out of the road, our strong young son Kyle and I pushed the van (hot to the touch) up and over the bridge while Susie wrestled inside with the stiff, unyielding powerless steering. We were able to coast down the other side once we reached the middle of the bridge (and the semi-truck behind us slowed down for us) as Kyle and I stood riding on the back bumper, holding on for dear life. We made it to the park entrance on the north side.
The power failure of the van's motor was very inconvenient.
We all have weaknesses and vulnerabilities, but the Lord never has a power failure. He promises the strength and power we need for each day, each trial, hardship, personal weakness, and circumstance. The Bible says that God's people "go from strength to strength" Ps. 84:7.
Jesus said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness" 2 Cor. 12:9.
The Bible says, "I pray that out of His glorious riches, He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith" Eph. 3:16-17.
We also have this wonderful assurance: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13.
The Lord never has a power failure! If we do, we should check the connection.
