Yutzy and Hollingsworth leading DW Track & Field

BURBANK–Two Dayton-Waitsburg Wolfpack athletes, Alyssa Hollingsworth and Reuben Yutzy had a good day in the first of two Eastern Washington Athletic Conference meets, the April 20 meet at Cle Elum/Roslyn, and the April 25 meet here. A third EWAC meet, held in Dayton May 2, will be reported in next week's newspaper.

Hollingsworth leveraged her speed and agility to score in each of her four events at Roslyn, finishing third in the 400 m. and Long Jump, fourth in the High Jump and eighth in the 100m. Yutzy, a blend of sprinter, jumper and thrower, took first in the high jump with a personal best of 5-10, second in the 100m and Shot Put, and seventh in the 200m.

At the meet hosted by Columbia-Burbank on April 25, additional EWAC schools upped the ante, giving Wolfpack thinclads a more competitive field.

Hollingsworth was sixth in the 200m. and Long Jump, and Makenna Barron took fifth in the Long Jump with a personal best of 12-9 and sixth in the High Jump.

Yutzy took third in the High Jump at 5-4 and fifth in the 100m in 12:35.

The 4X100m Relay team of Hudson Reser, Blake French, Teegan Kenney and Yutzy finished third in 47.58.
