POMEROY-The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) signed an inter-agency agreement and a commercial lease at their meeting on May 30, and opened hay bids, and approved agreements and contracts at their meeting on June 5.
The inter-agency agreement between Garfield County and the Washington State Department of Commerce through Washington State University is a subcontract that will provide $59,117 for broadband expansion and digital equity. Garfield County's broadband action team (BAT) will brainstorm uses for the funds.
A commercial lease agreement with Garfield County Prosecutor Matt Newberg, for the location of the Prosecutor's office. The County will pay Newberg $350 a month for the Prosecutor's office to be housed in his business at the old depo on Columbia Street. The lease will last for a year, then renew monthly until altered or rescinded.
The BOCC opened bids for the barley hay crop at the Garfield County Fair on June 5. Ledgerwood Farms is the high bidder at $176 per ton. The buyer is responsible for cutting, baling, and hauling the hay.
The board signed an agreement with Design West, pending approval from Prosecutor Matt Newberg, for the design of an early childhood center. The agreement stipulates how the $20,000 of American Rescue Plan Act funds previously approved will be used.
Also approved was a change to the Richardson lease for repeater space on their tower on Pomeroy Hill changing the name of the leaser to Richardson Family LLC, as well as an updated Blake contract for reimbursement from the State of Washington.
