POMEROY–Over a hundred people gathered to celebrate the Pataha Flour Mill's 25 years of operation as a ministry and restaurant on May 20. The celebration began with one of the Mill's well-known meals and ended with a praise gathering, during which many people sang hymns and told memories of the Mill.
The Mill was originally built in 1878, and was in use as a flour mill until the 1940s. Jon and Louise Van Vogt purchased the Mill in 1998.
In the past 25 years, the Van Vogts have restored the Pataha Flour Mill from a worn-out, barn-like building to its current beautiful condition. Both the main floor and the Houser Room upstairs have been used for receptions, reunions, and fellowship.
