Dayton Historical Depot Society welcomes new Museum Manager

DAYTON–The Dayton Historical Depot Society (DHDS) has hired Kristina Blake as the new Museum Manager effective June 13, 2023.

Blake has a Master's degree from Saint Leo University in Behavioral Science and a Bachelor's degree from Portland State University in Criminology. While her career experience has mostly been in the criminal justice arena, she has extensive experience as a department head and she is excited to be able to use her experience and skills to lead and be a part of the DHDS and the Dayton community.

She hopes to bring back many of the community engagement activities that made the Depot a strong focal point of the community such as book clubs, story-time at the depot and more interactive engagement with visitors.

Blake and her son have relocated to Dayton from Touchet for this position. Prior to coming to us, she worked as the Code Compliance Officer for Walla Walla County for eight months and before that spent four years in Airway Heights as the Code Compliance Officer and Property Room Officer with the Airway Heights Police Department.

In her spare time, she enjoys learning photography, sewing, exploring ghost towns, learning about local history, spending time with her many spoiled pets who were all rescues and writing.

Blake has two daughters, one who lives in Bend, Ore., and one who lives in Ellensburg, Wash., and a son, Ford, who lives with her in Dayton.
