Pomeroy man fatally injured in Hwy 12 accident

CLARKSTON–A 46-year-old Pomeroy man was fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident on SR 12 near Chief Timothy Park July 19.

Jeremiah J. Hessling, 46, was pronounced deceased at the scene, five miles west of Clarkston, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Hessling was westbound on a 1992 Honda ST1100 motorcycle when, in the process of passing a commercial motor vehicle, his vehicle collided with an eastbound 2020 Toyote driven by Jamie M. Lockie, 33, also of Pomeroy.

Hessling, who was wearing a helmet, according to the State Patrol incident report, sustained mortal injuries and the motorcycle was considered totaled. Lockie, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained no injuries and reportable damage to her vehicle. TKT Towing was called to recover both vehicles.

The incident is under investigation.
