Happy weekend! This week's director's column is short and sweet.
Did you know that parents can add notes to their child's account?
When your child gets their own library card, parents can add notes to that account to create parental controls.
Sample Patron's mom came in and told us that her child is only allowed to check out movies if they are rated G or PG. Now that the note is added, if Sample Patron tries to bend the rules and get a PG-13 rated movie, we will have to say no, and that they should ask their mom for permission.
You can use these notes for anything you deem necessary. Only want your child to check out books on their school reading list? Let us know! Worried about the content of specific books and don't want your child reading them before you have the chance to look at them? Let us know! We are happy to work with everyone.
We offer much more than just books and movies. The library offers two types of take-and-make crafts each week. In addition, come to toddler story time, and enjoy a variety of programs each month such as gardening and Humanities Washington lectures.
Happy reading.
