Donna Lea Trump
March 26, 1950–October 15, 2023
Donna Lea Trump, 73, of Dayton and Clarkston, Wash., died Sunday, October 15, 2023. This is what she wrote before she passed:
I was born on March 26, 1950 to Benjamin Leonard and Mildred Fern Warner Trump, at Brining Memorial Hospital in Dayton, Wash. I was the youngest of four daughters. I grew up two miles south of Marengo by the Tucannon River.
I attended Marengo School through the 5th grade, Dayton Elementary School, Dayton High School and graduated in 1968. I attended Washington State University, Western Washington State College, and Eastern Washington State College.
I loved to fish, ride horses, and go to Butte Creek in the Blue Mountains. I loved to garden, sew, remodel homes, and cook. Snowmobiling, mushrooming, and berry picking on Maloney Mountain were my favorite things to do, as was an annual get together with special friends from the class of 1968. Our annual family reunion was a highlight of my summers.
I was preceded in death by my parents Ben and Mildred, my daughter Jessie Lea Thomas, my sister Geraldine and her husband Larry, my former husband of nearly 31 years Sherman George Thomas, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and my first and last love, Jock Vernon Nysoe.
I am survived by my sons Andrew George Thomas (Joannah), Benjamin Robert Thomas (Bethany), and Matthew Lee Thomas, as well as my grandchildren Gavin Matthew Lokahi Thomas, Oliver Lee Thomas, Emma Rose Thomas, and Charlie George Thomas.
There was a graveside service at the Dayton City Cemetery on Tuesday, October 24 at 1:30 p.m., where I was laid next to my daughter Jessie Lea. A gathering may follow at a later date.
I loved you all and am grateful for the memories we made -- Donna
