DAYTON–The Columbia County Board of Commissioners and Columbia County Engineer is holding a County Road Open house to discuss the future of Columbia County roads. The open-house style meeting will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Pavilion building.
The purpose of the open house is to provide an open forum by which the public and stakeholders have an opportunity to learn about and provide input regarding the Management, Operations and Maintenance Practices of the County Road Department.
Columbia County is also in the process of developing short- and long-range improvement plans for both maintenance and capital improvement programs. External input and collaboration are critically essential to that process. Information gathered will be used in the development of the County Road’s strategic/business plan, Six-Year Transportation Improvement Plan, 2024 Annual Construction Program, 2024 Maintenance Program, 2024 Highway Safety Plan and 2024 County Road Budgets.
An initial presentation will be made by the Board of Commissioners and County Engineer followed by a question-and-answer period. If time allows, the public will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with the Commissioners and Public Works Staff after the question-and-answer period.
If you have any questions, please contact Walter (Grant) Morgan, Columbia County Engineer at 509-382-2534.
