Pomeroy residents injured in head-on

POMEROY––Two Pomeroy women were injured and transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center after being in a head-on collision on SR 12, on the Pomeroy side of the Alpowa Summit Friday, December 1, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Melanie K. Herman, 33, of Pomeroy, was driving a 2004 Buick sedan westbound on SR 12 at 12:43 p.m. seven miles east of Pomeroy, when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2021 Ford Explorer driven by Nicole L. Bruner, 49, of Pasco, head on. Both vehicles were totaled.

Herman and a passenger in Herman’s vehicle, Ellen F. Bagley, 65, Pomeroy, received injuries and were transported to the hospital in Lewiston. Bruner was not injured. All were wearing seat belts.

The Washington State Patrol report indicated the cause of the accident was speed too fast for conditions.
