GRANGER–If not for the few points the Lady Spartans tacked on in the first and fourth quarters, the Lady Bulldogs would've been much closer in their 33-22 season-opening loss.
Dayton faced Highland at home last Tuesday (results next week) and will face visiting Pomeroy this Saturday. Walla Walla Valley Academy comes to Dayton Tuesday, December 12 and Dayton travels to Colton December 16.
"We had a rough night," said Head Coach Jorie Aukerman, "not making our free throws and shots not falling in."
The team also took a beating physically. Freshman Alexa Jones left the game with a possible concussion, Aukerman said, and Peyton Benavides, another freshman whose talents play a big role in the team's game plan, left the game in the fourth quarter.
"Overall, it was a great first game for our Dayton Bulldog girls," Aukerman said.
