OLYMPIA– The Office of the Secretary of State received names from one state political party Friday to be listed on the March 12 Presidential Primary ballot.
The Washington State Republican Party has submitted five candidate names to go onto the 2024 Presidential Primary ballot: Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Chris Christie.
The Washington State Democratic Party announced January 9 the three candidates who will appear on the March 12, 2024 Presidential Primary ballot. Candidates qualifying submitted a filing fee to the State of Washington, paperwork declaring their candidacy, and 1,000 signatures from Washingtonians supporting their candidacy, verified by the Secretary of State.
The Democratic candidates who will appear on the ballot are: Joseph R Biden Jr., Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson.
Additionally, the ballot will include an option for the voter to have delegates to the Party's national convention remain uncommitted.
Under RCW 29A.56.031, each major political party has until January 9 to submit candidate names for the Presidential Primary.
