D.H.S. senior wins Inspiring Teens magazine cover contest
DAYTON–Local D.H.S. student Wyntr McCauley received the Inspiring Teens Magazine Cover Contest award and scholarship recently.
McCauley was nominated by her photographer, Sydney O'Brien (Sydney Nicole Photography) to the Inspiring Teens Magazine Cover Contest for Issue 74 and $1,000 scholarship. McCauley then informed family, friends and others that she had been nominated for this contest and posted links for people to vote for her. The contestant with the highest voting numbers by December 20 was announced as the winner on December 31.
McCauley was on a vacation to see her grandmother, Jacquie Rivera, in Hawaii during Christmas Break on December 19-28. While there, Wyntr was having a senior photo shoot with Karen Silva Photography and had her grandmother LaRhonda McCauley listening on the phone. Grandmother Jacquie Rivera surprised her with the magazine cover picturing Wyntr McCauley from the photo shoot at the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days by Sydney Nicole Photography. It was one of her favorite senior photos.
Shocked and surprised, McCauley exclaimed to her Grandmother McCauley over the phone, "I did it!"
The contest ended with McCauley receiving a total of 339 votes.
"I am going to put this scholarship toward my college funds or savings which will help complete my education to become a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Psychiatry," McCauley said.
McCauley is very grateful for all her supporters and is so very proud to be representing the State of Washington as the Inspiring Teens Magazine Cover Issue 74 winner.
