What's New at School?

New Semester Begins

DAYTON–Many things have ended with the second part of the semester starting up, and others have begun. the Dayton High School (DHS) Basketball season ended with a Senior Night honoring all the seniors from teams, band, cheer, and bookkeeper on February 2. These seniors include Kameryn Tupling, Grace Trump, Cayle Davis, Nolan Korlsund, Laney Crow, Wyntr McCauley, Opal Morin, Dea Wanlarbkham, and Madison Richardson. All these contributors to the DHS Basketball program are greatly appreciated.

The senior class of 2024 is preparing for graduation as they enter their second semester. Many are filling out scholarships, waiting for acceptance letters, and planning the senior trip in early June. The senior class put on a yard sale at the Delaney Building on February 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to raise funds for senior banners to be put up on Main Street and for the senior trip costs. Later, Saturday, February 3, Sadie Hawkin's dance was put on by the class of 2026 in the multi-Purpose room.

Middle School Associated Student Body (ASB) will sell Candy Grams as a fundraiser from February 5 to February 13. DHS ASB will sell Candy Grams as a fundraiser from February 5 to February 13. DHS ASB will always have a Bake Sale on February 14 for Valentine's Day.

Dayton FFA is preparing for the coming spring events, which include competitions and fundraising. On Thursday, February 8, Dayton FFA members will attend the Ag Expo in Spokane to learn more about the newest technology within the agricultural industry. the Dayton FFA Trapshooting team will be going to Pullman for a competition on Sunday, February 10 at 6 a.m.
