DAYTON–In a magical Senior Night, the shots were dropping for the Lady Bulldogs as they handed Tekoa-Rosalia a 42-35 loss and finished in fifth place with a 1-9 league record, 4-16 on the season. Dayton suffered a 50-26 loss to Gar-Pal the Tuesday prior.
The Lady Bulldogs romped to a 13-3 first-quarter lead and led 19-12 at halftime, but the Lady Timberwolves rallied with 23 second-half points and were scratching to win when Dayton slammed the door with key free throws in the end game.
"It was a great win to end our season," Head Coach Jorie Aukerman said. "These girls fought hard all year long and never gave up. I commend them all for sticking it through and pushing themselves – great things have come out of this season!"
Versus Gar-Pal, the short-handed team was defended will by the Lady Vikings, who jumped to an 18-3 lead and never looked back.
"We came out strong in the third quarter with more shots and more aggressiveness," Aukerman said.
