Presidential Primary ballots mailed this week

DAYTON––Ballots to Columbia County voters for the 2024 Washington State Presidential Primary will be mailed by February 23, 2024.

Candidates listed on the ballots include Democrats Joseph R. Biden, Jr., Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson. Republican candidates are Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy and Donald J. Trump. Trump and Haley are the only two candidates still in the race.

Ballots are due to be either delivered to the County Courthouse or an approved drop box, or postmarked by March 12.

Voters may register to vote by mail or online up until March 4, on in person by 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12. Any person who will be 18 years of age by November 5, 2024, is eligible to vote in the presidential primary.

For this election only, voters must mark and sign a party declaration for the vote to count. Designating party choice will not affect how a voter may vote in future elections, said Kevin D. McMahan, Assistant Secretary of State, in the voter's pamphlet.
