Patrick Marlyn Scheik passed away at his home in Krum, Tex., on January 10, 2024.

Patrick was born on March 25, 1970 in Colfax, Wash., to Evan Scheik and Carolyn (Waggoner) Scheik Criss. He lived with his family in Saint John, Wash., until 1976 before moving to Dayton, Wash., to own and operate the local bowling alley, Dayton Lanes. Patrick was an avid bowler and used to beat some of the best bowlers at the alley.

He attended schools in Dayton and Waitsburg, before moving to Ellensburg and graduating from Ellensburg High School in 1989. He joined the National Guard during his senior year and became active duty in the U.S. Army immediately following graduation. He proudly served during the Gulf War Desert Storm as a fuel supply specialist and was discharged in 1994.

Patrick married Maria Elena Rodriguez on September 10, 1994, at the First United Methodist Church in Dayton. Patrick and Maria lived in Dayton, Walla Walla, and Ellensburg before moving to Dallas, Tex., to be near his father in 2008. Patrick worked for Lattimore Materials Company driving a cement mixer until his retirement in 2022 due to a disability.

He was kind and loving and had a heart of gold. As one of his stepsisters recalled, he always made you feel important! He will truly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him and by those who loved him.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Maria of Krum, Tex; stepson David O'Donnell of Rhome, Tex; mother and stepfather Carolyn and Delmer Criss of Kennewick, Wash; father Evan Scheik of Ellensburg, Wash; brother Alan (Laurie) Scheik of Evergreen, Colo; sisters Morrey (Phil) Gardner of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Tracy (Keith) Davisson of Pasco, Wash.
